People Trying Way Too Hard

I'm not exactly sure how car commercials used to be but it seems that lately (within the past 10 years) that they've become pretty ridiculous. It has started to be a competition on who can make a more exaggerated commericial. I just love it when I'm out in the desert in my Chevy SSR while throwing it in reverse to get locked up into a semi. Seriously how many people do GM think live out in the desert? When someone from the midwest like myself is watching these comercials, we're thinking
Wow that's great scenery but what does it look like when it's next to row and rows of cornfields?
Also, I love the actors they get to fulfill the positions of people driving their cars. They're always moving the wheel back and forth but are driving in a straight line. That just makes me think something is horribly wrong with the allignment.
My God! You have to keep turning the wheel back and forth ever so slightly just to stay on the road? How bad can this thing be? What year did you buy this automo...2 weeks ago!? It's brand-new?! Well tell me this, how does it look in the desert?

I've had all sorts of desires to blog rants about car commercials. I can't stand them! Every single car commercial sucks! None of them make any kind of real effort to be clever, original, or funny, and those deals! The actors always come off as being over-the-top excited about the incredibly low prices they pay for them, with car dealers coming off as being these great guys who are doing their jobs in the favor of the buyer. All of it sickens me so much! Honestly, how many people look at a car commercial and simply tell themselves, "That car looks good. I'll buy that one." This isn't like some Mc Donalds commercial where you could purchase some "limited time only" meal for under $5.00. We are talking about a new car here. Why not just show commercials for individual houses. I like to buy those based on what the obviously-unbiased seller has to say about his home, too!
I greatly dislike car commercials. Ban them and bring back Cigarette television ads. ;)
